Be thankful for being able to be around or play the game we love. Not everyone gets the opportunity to watch their kids play. Not everyone has the chance to make a team or be a integral member of a team. Sometimes there are physical challenges that keep people who love the game from playing it. Our attitude should be one gratitude that we get to share in this great game.
As a high school player, my parents never came to one of my high school games. As a parent, I have had to watch my daughter be injured 4 times in her high school and college career. We should be cherishing all the small moments and never take it for granted. The time goes by fast. Soon you will be reminiscing about these memories.
The game will create so many amazing opportunities and sometimes heart ache but keep thankful. I like this quote by John C Maxwell: “Our attitude determines our altitude.” The more thankful and grateful we are, the further we will go.
Here are three things to remember:
Choose to be loving and supporting after games or practice .
Celebrate the small wins that happen everyday. Don’t wait to get to the finish line.
Remind your child that you’re thankful that are yours and proud of the way honor and represent your family.
